WHAT IS ENERGY STAR?
Compared with standard homes, ENERGY STAR® qualified homes use substantially less energy for heating, cooling, and water heating. Properly installed energy-efficient improvements deliver better protection against cold, heat, moisture, pollution, and noise. An energy-efficient home helps ensure consistent temperatures between and across rooms, improved air quality, and greater durability.House Bill 1736
As of September 2016, all new homes will require that duct blaster and blower door tests be performed after construction to ensure that the mandated requirements for energy efficiency are met.
